Local Action

Zonta International is divided into districts and clubs.  The Zonta Club of Salt Lake Area was created in 1959 and is located in Area 2, District 9 of Zonta International. Our members live along the Wasatch front and through our fundraising and service efforts we are able to help provide support for local organizations, as well as scholarships for the local Salt Lake Community College.

Global Impact

At the international level, Zonta International advocates on global issues primarily through the United Nations (UN) and Council of Europe. At the national level, Zonta districts, areas and clubs take action in support of, or in opposition to, legislation on issues affecting women and girls.

Local Advocacy

Advocating locally means getting involved with the issues that align with our cause. We do this by staying aware and informed of what is going on in the Utah State legislature.

Our Partners

We work with many wonderful companies who help support us in our fundraising efforts. Below are just a few of our local partners who have donated over the past few years to help us reach our goals.

If you would like to donate, please contact us or visit the "Donate" page to see how you can help support our cause.

Recent Service Projects

This year Zonta Club of Salt Lake Area is excited to begin supporting the Period Project. This initiative is working to end period poverty by ensuring period products are provided free of cost and readily available. To help with this, our club members were excited to have the opportunity to put together period "kits" with different period items to donate to a few of the local high schools!  To find out more about this initiative, please visit: https://www.thepolicyproject.org/theperiodproject/

Passionate Wings

In September our club was introduced to Martha Garcia from Passionate Wings. Martha shared her passion for helping women who are fleeing from abusive situations. Many women leaving these types of situations leave with nothing but the clothes they are wearing. Martha wants to ensure these women have what they need to make a fresh start and move on with their lives. A few of our club members were very excited to be able to help organize the items at the Passionate Wings location and look forward to spending more time there to help support these women in need.
